ExemptPurpose of the Position:
The Safety and Compliance Officer is responsible for implementation and monitoring of the VFHC safety and compliance programs.
This position provides assistance to the Director of Human Resources and the Chief Operations Officer to ensure the organization meets all standards, rules, and regulations set forth by federal, state, and local governing agencies.
The Safety and Compliance Officer works closely with the Operations Officer to ensure the organization maintains current and relevant policies and procedures throughout all clinic sites.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experienceTwo years' experience in the healthcare field with specialization in safety and compliance preferred.
Knowledge of medical and legal terminologyComputer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPointKnowledge of community health care systems preferred.
Foundational knowledge of OSHA, HIPAA, and other relevant compliance, regulatory, and safety agencies required.
Excellent communication skills required, including verbal, written, listening, and presenting.
Responsibilities:
Monitor and maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA and other federal, state and local safety guidelines.
Maintain confidentiality and privacy processes.
Safety:
a.
Collaborate with Chief Operations Officer, Facility Manager, Systems Administrator, and other regulatory staff as needed to implement and monitor safety and compliance guidelines, programs, policies, and procedures.
b.
Engage in safety preparedness and ensure updates of materials and procedures.
c.
Serve as chairperson of the Safety & Emergency Management Committee.
d.
Conduct research on safety and compliance and uses data to improve and/or update current processes.
4.
Policy Committee:
a.
Lead the committee of pertinent stakeholders to write/revise policies and procedures relevant to organizational operations and compliance.
b.
Own the process for draft through adoption and assure all steps are taken for appropriate approvals and publishing.
5.
Compliance:
a.
Assist in FTCA resolution and documentation.
b.
Lead FTCA recertification annually c.
Assist with HRSA compliance and on-site visit preparations.
d.
OSHA compliance:
completion of the OSHA 300 and 301 forms.
6.
Incident Reporting:
a.
Manage the Incident Reporting Program including incident/accident investigation, compiling documentation, and ensuring follow-up actions are completed.
Bring trends to the Risk Management Committee.
b.
Chairperson of the Risk Management Committee where we analyze data, trends, look at process changes, alignment of patient and employee safety, risk and quality.
7.
Training:
a.
Ensure continuous learning in the core competencies such as:
healthcare law, OSHA, HIPAA, HRSA, Risk Management, and Workers' Compensation.
b.
Facilitate, conduct, track mandatory company training including New Hire Orientation risk and safety trainings.
c.
Maintain relevant trainings as required.
8.
Assist with meeting quality measures by completing tasks related to VFHC initiatives.
9.
Produce timely reports on a regular basis to internal and external agencies and organizations as required 10.
Serve as liaison between inter-organization departments and/or external agencies and organizations as required.
11.
Complete other duties as requested and required.
Physical requirements Must be able to lift 25 lbs.

Correctable vision and hearing.
The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

Salary Description $61,000-$72,000/DOE.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
